These terms are the agreement between you and O’Liberty Security School (“the school”, “we”) when you use this website, buy a course, or take our training. By creating an account or paying for a course you accept them.
We are a security guard training school. We deliver training and issue a diploma in your name recording that you completed it. We are not New York State, we are not the Department of State, and we do not issue, approve or renew security guard licenses. Licensing is handled by the state. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and where a state rule and something on this site disagree, the state rule governs.
You need an account to take a course. Keep your password to yourself, give us accurate information, and do not share your account — enrollment is personal to you and your training record has to be yours. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
Course prices are shown on the course pages at the time you buy: the 8-hour pre-assignment course, the 16-hour on-the-job course, the 8-hour annual in-service course, and each F-series certificate course. Prices are in US dollars. Payment is taken by our payment processor; we do not receive your card details. When payment completes, the course is added to your account.
A course purchase gives you personal access to that course’s lectures, materials and exam. It does not give you a licence, a job, or any state credential.
Courses are video-led and split into short segments. Each segment must be watched, and each segment ends with a question you must answer, before the next unlocks. When every segment is complete, a final exam of 20 questions opens. Pass it and the course is complete and your diploma is issued.
Do not attempt to circumvent the learning module. That includes automating playback, falsifying watch progress, sharing answers, having someone else complete a course for you, or scraping the lecture material. We record watch progress server-side and we can see when progress is not credible. If we find an attempt to bypass the training, we may suspend the account and withhold the diploma, because a diploma that does not mean anything is worse than no diploma at all.
When you complete a course we issue a diploma in your name under O’Liberty Security School, keep a copy in your account, and make a PDF available to you. We keep completion records so a diploma can be verified later. A diploma records that you completed our training; it is not a state licence and does not replace one.
The lectures, text, questions, design and all other course material belong to the school or are used with permission. You may use them for your own training. You may not copy, resell, republish, record or distribute them, or use them to build a competing course.
The job search lists openings published by employers and by public sources, with a link to each employer’s own posting. We are not the employer, we are not a recruiter, and we do not guarantee any listing is still open or that you will be hired. Always apply through the employer’s own page. We do not send your information to employers; you decide what to share and with whom.
Do not use the site to break the law, to attack or overload our systems, to attempt to access other people’s accounts or records, or to interfere with anyone else’s training.
We aim to keep the site available and the material current, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may update course content, including in response to changes in New York State requirements, and may withdraw a course. If we withdraw a course you have paid for and have not completed, section 4 of the Refund Policy applies.
We are responsible for delivering the training we sell. We are not responsible for a licensing decision the state makes, for whether you are hired, for the accuracy of a third-party job listing, or for indirect losses. Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
You can stop using the site and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms — for instance an attempt to bypass the learning module — and will tell you why.
